Al Quran : Aur ye log Aapse Rooh ke baare mein sawal karte hain unse kah dijiye ki ye mere RABB ke hukm se hai aur tumhe (logo ko) jo ilm diya gaya hai wo bahut hi thoda hai

Surah Al Isra (17), 85

Hadith : Abdullah bin masood Radi Allahu Anhu se rivayat hai ki wo kahte hain ek martaba mein Rasool-Allah Sal-Allahu Alaihi Wasallam ke saath madine ke khandaro mein chal raha tha  aur aap khajoor ki chadi par sahara dekar chal rahe they to kuch yahudiyo ka udhar se guzar hua usmein se ek ne kaha ki Aapse rooh ke baare mein kuch pucho , dusre ne kaha ki mat pucho kahi ais ana ho ki wo kuch aisee baat kah de jo tumhe pasand na aaye , magar unmein se kuch ne

kaha ki hum jarur puchenge phir ek yahudi shakhs khada hua aur kaha ki Eh Abul Qasim Sal-Allahu Alaihi Wasallam  Rooh kya cheez hai , Aap Sal-Allahu Alaihi Wasallam  ne khamoshi ikhtyar farmayee , maine (dil mein) kaha ki Aap par wahi nazil ho rahi hai is liye main khada ho gaya jab Aap Sal-Allahu Alaihi Wasallam  se wo wahi ki kefiyat dur ho gayee to Aap Sal-Allahu Alaihi Wasallam ne Quran ki ye aayat tilawat farmaya

وَيَسْأَلُونَكَ عَنِ الرُّوحِ ۖ قُلِ الرُّوحُ مِنْ أَمْرِ رَبِّي وَمَا أُوتِيتُم مِّنَ الْعِلْمِ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا

Aur ye log Aapse Rooh ke baare mein sawal karte hain unse kah dijiye ki ye mere RABB ke hukm se hai aur tumhe (logo ko) jo ilm diya gaya hai wo bahut hi thoda hai

Surah Al Isra (17), 85

Narrated Abdullah bin masood Radi Allahu Anhu While I was going with the Prophet (ﷺ) through the ruins of Medina and he was reclining on a date-palm leaf stalk, some Jews passed by. Some of them said to the others: Ask him (the Prophet) about the spirit. Some of them said that they should not ask him that question as he might give a reply which would displease them. But some of them insisted on asking, and so one of them stood up and asked, "O Abul-Qasim !

What is the spirit?" The Prophet (ﷺ) remained quiet. I thought he was being inspired Divinely. So I stayed till that state of the Prophet (while being inspired) was over. The Prophet (ﷺ) then said,

وَيَسْأَلُونَكَ عَنِ الرُّوحِ ۖ قُلِ الرُّوحُ مِنْ أَمْرِ رَبِّي وَمَا أُوتِيتُم مِّنَ الْعِلْمِ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا

And they ask you (O Muhammad ﷺ) concerning the Ruh (the Spirit); Say: "The soul is of the affair of my Lord, you (mankind) have been given only a little knowledge (regarding this)"

Sahih Bukhari, Book 3, 127
