Hazrat ibn Abbas radi Allahu anhu ka bayan hai ki jab musa alaihi salam banee israeel ko muqaddas zameen ki taraf le gaye aur gussa utar jane ke baad takhtiya utha li aur unmein jo ahkam they wo unhe sunaye to unki quam ko wo sakht malum huye aur unhone isko maane se saaf inkar kar diya, to Allah ke hukm se farishto ne unke siro par pahaad (Tur) lakar khada kar diya , phir Musa alaihi salam ne farmaya bolo ab mante ho ya Allah tum par phaad girakar tumhe

fana kar de us waqt sabke sab maare khauff ke sazde mein gir gaye lekin bayee aankh sazde mein thi aur dayee aankh se upar dekh rahe they ki kahi pahad gir na padhe

And for their covenant, We raised over them the Mount Tur
An-Nisaa (4), Aayat 154

وَإِذْ نَتَقْنَا الْجَبَلَ فَوْقَهُمْ كَأَنَّهُ ظُلَّةٌ وَظَنُّوا أَنَّهُ وَاقِعٌ بِهِمْ
And (remember) when We raised the mountain over them as if it had been a canopy(or dark cloud), and they thought that it was going to fall on them.
Surah Aaraf (7) , Aayat 171

Ibn Abbas Radi allahu anhu said when Musa alaihi salam proceeded with them (bani israeel) to the Sacred Land. He took along the Tablets, after his anger subsided, and commanded them to adhere to the orders that Allah ordained to be delivered to them. But these orders became heavy on them and they did not want to implement them until Allah raised the mountain over them, (as if it had been a canopy or a dark cloud), that is, when the angels raised the mountain over their heads. Musa alaihi salam said either you accept the order of Allah or he will let fall this mountain over you, after seeing this they all fall down in prostration, their left eyes was in prostration and with right eye they were seeing mountain out of fear that it may fall down
