Al-Harith Al-Ash'ari Radi Allahu Anhu se rivayat hai ki Rasool-Allah Sal-Allahu alaihi wasallam ne farmaya Yahya Alaihi salam ko Allah ne 5 baato ka hukm diya aur farmaya ki khud bhi us par amal karo aur bani israel ko bhi is par amal karne ka hukm do magar yahya Alaihi salam ne isko pahuchane mein deri ki to Esa alaihi salam ne unse kaha ki Allah subhanahu ne aapko 5 cheezo par amal karne ka hukm diya hai aur bani isarel se bhi us par amal karwane ka hukm diya hai isliye aap unko hukm dijiye warna main unko hukm deta hu Yahya Alaihi salam ne kaha ki mujhe andesha hai ki agar apane usko pahuchane mein sabqat le gaye to mujhe dhansa diya jayega ya azab diya jayega phir unhone logo ko bait al muqaddas mein jama kiya yaha tak ki jagah bhar gayee aur log unchi jagah par baith gaye phir hazrat yahya Alaihi salam ne farmaya Allah subhnahu ne mujhe 5 cheezo ka hukm diya hai aur kaha hai ki khud bhi is par amal karu aur tum logo ko bhi us par amal karne ka hukm du

Narrated Al-Harith Al-Ash'ari Radi Allahu Anhu that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Indeed Allah commanded Yahya bin Zakariyya with five commandments to abide by, and to command the Children of Isra'il to abide by them. But he was slow in doing so. So 'Eisa said: 'Indeed Allah commanded you with five commandments to abide by and to command the Children of Isra'il to abide by. Either you command them, or I shall command them.' So Yahya said: 'I fear that if you precede me in this, then the earth may swallow me, or I shall be punished.' So he gathered the people in Jerusalem, and they filled [the Masjid] and sat upon its balconies. So he said: 'Indeed Allah has commanded me with five commandments to abide by, and to command you to abide by.
1. The first of them is that you worship Allah and not associate anything with him.
2. And Allah commands you to perform Salat.
3. And He commands you with fasting.
4. And He commands you to give charity.
5. And He commands you to remember Allah.
