Narrated from Qais bin sakan Radi allahu anhu that Once Abdullah Ibn Masud Radi Allahu Anhu noticed his wife wearing a Amulate (knotted object) round her neck because of some disease. He took it away and cut it. Then he remarked: The family of Abdullah is free from all kinds of shirk (associating false gods with Allah) Then, he added , among the Ahadith (sayings) which I heard from the RasoolAllah ﷺ , one of them is *Verily, incantations, amulets, and love charms are acts of shirk.*

عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ السَّكَنْ الأَسَدِي، قَالَ: دَخلَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنِ مَسعُودِ رضی اللہ عنہ عَلَى امْرَأَتِهِ فَرَأَى عَلَيْهَا حِرْزًا مِّنَ الْحُمْرَةِ فَقَطَعَهُ قَطْعاً عَنِيْفاً ثُمَّ قَالَ: إِنَّ آلَ عَبْدِ اللهِ عَنِ الشِّرْكِ أَغْنِيَاءُ وَقَالَ: كَانَ مِمَّا حَفِظْنَا عَنِ النّبِي صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم « إِنَّ الرُّقَى وَالتَّمَائِمَ وَالتِّوَلَةَ شِرْكٌ»

Qais bin sakan Radi allahu anhu se rivayat hai ki Abdullah Ibn Masud Radi Allahu Anhu ne ek baar apni biwi ko dekha ki wo (Khasre ki) beemari ki wajah se gale mein taweez pahne huye hai, unhone unke gale se taweez ko kaat diya aur farmaya ki Abdullah ki Aal shrik se bari hai aur kahne lage ki mujhe RasoolAllah ﷺ ki jo hadith yaad hain unmein se ek ye bhi hai ki *jhaad phunk, taaweez aur hubb ke aamal (love charm) shrik hain*
